China requires foreign financial information suppliers to operate through a government-designated agent. the only designated agent so far belongs to Xinhua News Agency, the State News Agency, which is also in charge of regulating the sector and, in addition, operates a commercial financial information supplier in competition with foreign providers. Moreover, China does not allow foreign suppliers to set up a commercial presence other than in the form of very limited representative offices.

Status
DSU consultations were held on 22-23 April 2008. the commission is exploring the possibility of an amicable settlement before taking any further partner steps in the DSU context.
