EU-Kenya: Text of the agreement

Please find below the text of the agreement for all chapters, annexes, protocol and joint statements.

Disclaimer: In view of the European Commission’s transparency policy, the Commission is publishing the final text of the agreement following the signature of the agreement in Nairobi on 18 December 2023.

The agreement will become binding on the Parties under international law only after completion by each Party of its internal legal procedures necessary for the entry into force of the agreement.

1. Main body:
   General provisions, trade in goods, fisheries, agriculture, economic and development cooperation, institutional provisions, dispute avoidance and settlement, general exceptions, general and final provisions
2. Annexes 1 & 2: 
   Customs duties on products originating in the EAC partner state(s), customs duties on products originating in the EU
3. Annexes 3 a & b: 
   EPA development matrix (11 September 2015), development benchmarks, targets and indicators 
4. Annex IV: 
   Joint declaration regarding countries which have established a customs union with the European Union
5. Annex V: 
   Trade and Sustainable Development
6. Annex VI: 
   Joint declaration of the European Union and the Republic of Kenya on the economic and development cooperation in this agreement
7. Protocol 1 
   on mutual administrative assistance in customs matters
8. Joint Statement on Rules of Origin by the European Union and the Republic of Kenya
9. Joint Statement on Trade and Sustainable Development by the European Union and the Republic of Kenya.
