Commission moves to protect EU mobile access equipment industry from dumped imports

Today, the European Commission imposed definitive anti-dumping measures on imports of mobile access equipment (MAE) from China.

The duties imposed range from 20.6% to 54.9% and are necessary to mitigate the effects of unfair trading practices on an EU industry employing over 3,000 people across eight EU Member States.

The imposition of these measures follows an anti-dumping investigation which found that dumping was causing significant harm to producers of mobile access equipment in the EU. Despite good market conditions and increased demand in recent years, the EU industry has lost significant market share due to dumped imports from China.

MAEs are widely used in the construction sector across the EU, as well as to lift workers carrying out important interventions at height, such as the installation of electrical or telecoms equipment. Annual sales of MAEs in the EU amount to €1 billion, underscoring the importance of this industry to the EU economy.
