A preceding investigation showed that dumped imports from China were seriously injuring the Union industry, which sustained double-digit losses and was forced to halt its erythritol production towards the end of 2022. The EU market is worth €30 million annually.
In the absence of swift and adequate measures, the situation of the Union industry would have continued to deteriorate and may have led to a definitive closure.
The anti-dumping duties imposed today range from 34.4% to 233.3% and will also be collected retroactively, as of 7 June 2024, at the level of provisional duties that were imposed on 19 July 2024.
