EU-US Trade & Technology Council: WG10 Roundtable on due diligence

We kindly invite you to join us for the WG10 Roundtable on due diligence, in person or online.

Under the work strand of 'Trade & Labour', TTC Working Group 10 will host a roundtable discussion on the importance of carrying out due diligence for responsible business conduct in supply chains.

This event aims to allow EU and US government representatives together with labour, business, and other key stakeholders to discuss recent developments, potential areas of cooperation, and the role stakeholders can play in implementing effective due diligence in supply chains.

The focus of the roundtable will be on promoting inter alia labour rights in supply chains, including the elimination of forced or compulsory labour, and the importance of multistakeholder engagement in trade policy. This event will address (1) legislative and non-legislative initiatives in the EU and US addressing labour rights in global supply chains; (2) strengthening stakeholder capacity by sharing best practices to conduct due diligence; and (3) supporting partner governments in translating commitments to due diligence in global supply chains into concrete actions.

The event will be hybrid but will be preceded by an in-person networking lunch with a discussion on tools and support measures for due diligence. The event will also be followed by an in-person networking reception.
