Civil Society Dialogue on the new study to review the Dialogue: your chance to say how this Dialogue should evolve

This meeting presents the first opportunity for Civil Society Organisations to have a say in how we should shape the next generation Dialogue.

  • Date: 19/06/2020, 10:00-11:30
  • Location: WEBEX

Meeting details

The Directorate-General for Trade (DG Trade) has commissioned a study to review its Civil Society Dialogue. The Commission’s new political guidelines confirm the importance of strengthening links between people and the institutions. For DG Trade, this means rethinking how to connect with discussions on trade that are happening in the Member States.

The study has two main objectives, to:

  1. Assess if the Dialogue remains fit for purpose and is meeting expectations, and;
  2. Investigate how the CSD might provide increased support to discussions on trade in the Member States

Further information on the study can be found here.

The Directorate-General is seeking direct feedback from civil society to support this study. The study is due to report back in early 2021. Over the next few months, the study team is tasked with providing a detailed picture of discussions on trade across the Member States, including a focus on a sample of 12 Member States, to be decided. They will need your help to do this.

This meeting presents the first opportunity for Civil Society Organisations to have a say in how we should shape the next generation Dialogue. During the meeting, we will use real-time polls to provide an initial picture of your views. Please take this opportunity to engage with us!

The Terms of Reference for the study are available here.
