Company profile

Burgozone is a family-owned boutique winery producing high-end Bulgarian wines.

Established in 2005, Burgozone is headquartered in Sofia. Its vineyards lie on the outskirts of the town Oryahovo, on the banks of the River Danube.

Burgozone produces a range of wines.  Château Burgozone is a line of premium wines, which has attracted international attention.  The varieties include Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Marselan.

Château Burgozone's Chardonnay has received 6 gold medals at Concours Mondial in Brussels between 2010 and 2016.

Another collection of Burgozone's wines, called ‘Iris Creation’, won the award for best Bulgarian white wine at Mondus Vini.  Its Chardonnay received the gold medal from Selection Mondiales des Vins in Canada.

In recent years, Burgozone has expanded its exports.  CETA, the EU’s trade agreement with Canada, has made it easier for Burgozone to sell to Canada.

Vietnamese tariffs and customs duties on European wines are currently 50%. The EU-Vietnam free trade agreement will gradually remove these tariffs over a 7-year period.

With the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement, Vietnamese authorities will have to ensure that distribution licenses given to European producers in Vietnam are not discriminatory in any way.  This will benefit companies such as Burgozone that hope to expand in the future.

Our company supports the EU-Vietnam free trade agreement because this will help our company in its expansionary strategy and support our efforts in entering this growing wine market. By cutting export costs, our high quality wines will be competitive on the local market and we will be able to offer to the Vietnamese consumer a premium Bulgarian wine.
