As mandated by the GSP Regulation, the European Commission, jointly with the European External Action Service, regularly reports on the implementation of the Regulation via a Joint Report to the European Parliament and the Council, accompanied by dedicated country-specific documents for the GSP+ beneficiary countries (Armenia, Bolivia, Cabo Verde, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan). The purpose of this meeting is to present the latest GSP report to EU civil society organisations, exchange views on it, and collect feedback from civil society.

The European Commission put forth a proposal to extend the GSP Regulation for the period 2024-2027, as the current EU GSP regulation is set to expire at the end of 2023. This extension of the current scheme is crucial to allow GSP and GSP+ beneficiaries to continue enjoying tariff preferences, as the Council and the European Parliament have not yet reached an agreement on the Commission's proposal to reform GSP rules. During this meeting, the Commission will give an update to EU civil society on the extension of current GSP rules, and exchange views on it.
