Following the WTO ruling in the case WT/DS166 confirming that the US safeguard measure on imports of wheat gluten from the EC violated the Safeguard Agreement (SA), the EC has used its right to rebalance WTO concessions (under Art. 8 of the SA) and introduced a tariff rate quota on ¿5 on US corn gluten feed imports, up to a level of 2.73 million tonnes.

Status

Consultations have been hled in Geneva on 24 Apr. 2001. Case settled by the termination of the rebalancing measure as a result of US compliance in the wheat gluten case (DS166).
