Today, the European Commission extended anti-dumping duties on aluminium road wheels from China for another five years.

Today, the European Commission imposed anti-dumping duties on fatty acid from Indonesia. This follows an investigation which showed that EU industry was being harmed by dumped imports because it could not compete on price, resulting in a market share loss.

The Commission today imposed anti-dumping duties on imports of aluminium road wheels originating in Morocco. An investigation found that imports from Morocco were being dumped on the EU market and as such were harming the EU industry, which employs 17,000 people.

Yesterday the Commission opened an anti-absorption investigation concerning the anti-dumping measures on imports of optical fiber cables originating in the People’s Republic of China.

The Commission today initiated a review of the steel safeguard measure to determine whether it should be terminated one year earlier than its current end date of 30 June 2024. The Commission had committed to undertaking this review when it extended its original safeguard measure in June 2021.

Today, the European Commission published its Annual Report on the EU's trade defence activities of 2021. The Report concludes that 462,000 EU jobs were directly protected by the EU's trade measures in 2021 in key EU manufacturing sectors such as aluminium, steel, ceramics and green technology.

As of today, 31 March 2022, EU exporters of ceramic tiles will no longer need to undergo redundant testing or product audits when they export to Saudi Arabia, meaning exporting will become cheaper, faster and more predictable.
