Aceitunas Torrent, S.L. is a family business, led today by the fourth generation, and specialising in the processing, commercialisation, and distribution of table olives. With sales in more than 50 countries, the company has established itself as one of the leading producers and exporters of olives worldwide.

In 2018, - just before the EU and Japan's Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) entered into force on 1 February 2019 – the company began its operation in Japan.

Levelling the playing field

Thanks to the reduced tariffs introduced by the EPA, Aceitunas Torrent, S.L increased its volume of sales and profits in 2020.

The company is also benefitting from the increased legal certainty, and the fact that the EPA helped to remove additional testing requirements.

All these factors contributed to a levelling of the playing field and to a decrease in the costs for EU companies of doing business in Japan. As a result, companies like Aceituna Torrent S.L have been able to increase their market share.

Reliability of our partners is crucial, and the EU-Japan EPA has increased trust.
