Super Garden was founded in 2016. It specialises in freeze-dried food products, producing a huge variety of snacks, from fruit and ice cream to cheese. Lithuanian farmers provide the fresh products during their natural harvesting period. The lyophilisation process preserves the products at their nutritional best, giving them a longer shelf life without any additives and preservatives, and ensuring that they are easy to transport.

The company is seeing rapid growth and has become one of the most innovative brands in the food industry, winning among other prizes Best New Snack Product at the Natural & Organic Awards Scandinavia 2019.

How the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement helped

Super Garden learned from the Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce that the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement had made some 85% of agri-food exports to Japan duty-free. The company participated in the ‘Get ready for Japan’ training programme, offered by the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation. The centre provided fundamental help with knowledge and tools to access the Japanese market, as well as to make new connections: in Japan, they started a partnership with a Spanish company.

In 2022 Super Garden became a member of the EU-Japan Business Round Table organised by the EU-Japan Centre. Being a member of a local European Chamber, or in this case of the EU-Japan Business Round Table, can help exporters fully exploit the benefits of an agreement.

Super Garden’s sales revenue in Japan is steadily growing and the company is even considering setting up a new factory there.

The EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement lowered duties on almost all of the foodstuffs we export, making us more competitive on the Japanese market. We are very excited about future development opportunities in Japan!
