Company profile

Naturtex has become a successful, competitive company thanks to its high quality products, continuous innovation, environmentally friendly thinking, and the ability to adapt quickly to international consumer needs.

However, on the global market, Naturtex’s competitiveness is strongly influenced by customs tariffs and other trade barriers on its products exported from Hungary. While Hungary is an important market for Naturtex, 80% of all turnover comes from exports to more than 60 countries throughout the world.

Canada had been a promising growth market for Naturtex, prospects were limited however, since Canada imposed 15% tariffs on the company’s products.

How the EU-Canada trade agreement helps

CETA has eliminated the tariffs of more than 15% on the exports of Naturtex’s products from Hungary to Canada. This means that Naturtex can offer better prices to consumers in Canada, compete more successfully against local or Asian producers and by that, increase sales.

The fact that Canadian tariffs on our products went down with the CETA agreement was a real breakthrough for us. As a result, our sales in Canada have increased substantially in the past couple of years.
