The EU-Mexico trade deal has multiplied trade, investment, growth and jobs on both sides of the Atlantic.

More than 1,140,000 bottles of Champagne are exported to Mexico each year, with a value of €20 million, and small companies like Drappier are reaping the benefits and creating new jobs in the process. With over 60% of Drappier’s turnover coming from exports, the intended upgrading of the EU-Mexico trade agreement will continue to benefit small companies like Drappier.

Since the agreement entered into force in 2000, EU exports to Mexico have seen consistent growth (multiplying by 3 between 2000 and 2013), representing more than 40 thousand million dollars. Mexican exports also bring much to the European Union, most specifically in the field of electrical and optical equipment, chemistry and wholesale trade. The EU is currently Mexico’s 3rd largest trading partner in terms of imports, behind only the United States and China.
