The Commission’s Directorate-General for Trade and Economic Security is organising this meeting to present and discuss with civil society the key features of the EU’s new Generalised Scheme of Preferences (GSP). The new GSP Regulation is foreseen to enter into force on 1 January 2027.

The GSP is a key tool through which the EU supports low- and lower middle-income countries in their pursuit of poverty reduction, economic growth and sustainable development. The EU unilaterally grants preferential access to the EU market to beneficiary countries by eliminating or reducing import tariffs.

We look forward to meeting you in person and online, and to hearing your views and questions.
