Summary of the case

The dispute concerns two types of additional duties that India applies to US imports, that include but are not limited to wine and spirits. As a result US products appear to be subject to duties/charges in excess of those set by India in its schedule and are accorded less favourable treatment than like Indian products.

Status

Consultations were requested bu the US on 6 March 2007 and were held on 13 April 2007. The EC participated as third party in consultations
