Brazil has imposed an import ban on retreaded tyres, has adopted measures banning the importation of used tyres and has imposed a fine per unit on the importation, marketing, transportation, storage and keeping of imported but not of domestic retreaded tyres.

Status

The Appellate Body has ruled on 3 December 2007 that Brazil's measures are incompatible with the GATT 1994, and the DSB has adopted the reports. Brazil now has to implement the ruling.
